FIRST EDITION

Note,  the two letter code designating month and year of publication is no longer being used and in its place is a number line found on the last page of the book before the free endpaper.  It MUST contain the number 1 to be a first printing. On this book it reads:
69 70 71 72 73 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Apparently, Harper & Row sometimes left the FIRST EDITION slug on the copyright page for later printings but would drop the appropriate number from the number line to indicate what printing it was.

Book is quarter bound with grey boards and grey spine with grey lettering.  Blue topstain and grey endpapers.
