4.  [Carr, John Dickson]. The Bowstring Murders by Carr Dickson. New York (1933). The first book that Carr published using a pseudonym, featuring the detective John Gaunt. Very difficult to find either in or out of jacket. The book itself is in VG+ condition with minor fading to spine lettering and bumped corners/spine ends. The jacket has some significant problems including heavy creasing to the front panel and spine ends, tape repairs to the spine ends, front fold and joints and a long tear at the front fold. $400
